The new posting contest on Short Screen started today. The details are below. Hopefully a few of you enter this contest and one of you wins it. If not, I’ll have to eat $100 in lobster myself.

Another limp day for the Dow, which slumped below 10k again. While permabulls look to add on this dip, those of us who believe we may be at the beginning of another cyclical bear market are scouting out new short positions. What better time to try encourage some new participation and sharing of ideas here?
Since it looks like no one is going to win the current posting contest here, since we haven’t had the minimum number of posts (20) and posters (4; 5 posts each), we are going to reboot the contest., with a couple of changes:
1) We’re adding to the prize — in addition to the $100 in gift cards to McCormick & Schmick’s, we’re adding a pair of movie tickets. So the winner can take that someone special to dinner and a movie, as compensation for the time he spends on investing websites.
2) Everyone starts from scratch. No posts or points before the start of the new contest, at 12.01am Tuesday, June 1st will count toward the new contest, which will end one week later, at 11:59pm Monday, June 7th.
This will be a pretty easy contest to win. You just need to encourage a friend or two to enter as well, so we get the minimum number of posters and posts, and then your odds of winning will be pretty high. Something to mention to your friends, perhaps, over a beer this Memorial Day Weekend.
