– Stopped out of CENX today at $12.77 for a loss of 9.7%.
– Tightened the trailing stops a little on my two remaining short positions (AKS and PXP).
– I added a new stock to my watch list for shorting, ITMN.
– Comment contest winner Hesperian opened short positions in OSTK and HOT.
– Alloy Steel International (AYSI.OB) filed its 10-Q today. It was typically parsimonious with details, e.g., there was no mention of the status of the third mill. Perhaps I will contact the company to get some color on this.
– Unloaded nearly all (I got left with 35 shares, or about $26 worth at today’s share price) of my HEM shares after reading this comment on their quarter by Aaron Edelheit on the VIC:
What a disappointment this company has become. Their latest quarter is a mess. Inventory is still out of control and they have a big delay with their Edrive X. I think the company should be sold to a larger competitor. I would generally avoid unless you are playing for a takeover.
– HEM reminded me of the other Edelheit pick I still own a few shares of, PNDMF, so I asked Edelheit his opinion of that company’s quarter on his blog. Edelheit’s response was this,
As expected, generating cash, falling expenses. Revenue should seasonally start to increase as expenses stay flat. And at some point this year, hopefully they announce business printing.
