Sorry for the lack of recent posts. There are a few things I’ve been meaning to link to/comment on here this week, but I’ve been under the weather a little and haven’t gotten around to them. Will try to get around to some of those topics, as time permits and as the spirit moves me. In the meantime, a quick post prompted by a blogger who’s much more consistent and prolific than me: Mark Essel, of Victus Spiritus. Reading his post yesterday (“Sand Castles”) reminded me of a scene from a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, so I mentioned that and posted a link to the relevant clip in a comment there.
Afterwords, I checked to see if my favorite episode from the that series was on YouTube. I searched for “The Light Within”, which I thought was the title, but it was “The Inner Light“. I found it. Apparently, all the TNG episodes are available on YouTube now. I hadn’t seen that episode since sometime in the ’90s, so I watched it again. It was as good as I remembered it. Below is the first part of it. You’ll see a link to part 2 of it at the end of the clip. and a link to part 3 after that, and so on (5 parts). Worth watching, if you haven’t seen it. Be careful not to click on any fan “tribute” videos to this episode though. From the few seconds I saw of one of them, after clicking on it by accident, it appeared to be pretty saccharin and lame.
